OSPR and the US Coast Guard responded to a red dye diesel spill that occurred when the commercial fishing vessel Royal Pacific collided with the fishing vessel Golden Eagle while shifting berths, puncturing a fuel tank on the starboard side. The source of the spill was stopped shortly after the incident, but as much as 300 gallons entered the water.
The Royal Pacific was removed from the water and underwent repairs. Cleanup operations and an investigation was later concluded. The Oiled Wildlife Care Network activated two recovery teams to collect oiled animals.
