Shell Wharf Incident

OSPR responds to oil spill at the Shell Martinez Pier on Tuesday, February 11, 2015. Two barrels of crude oil spilled from the Shell Martinez refinery pier as a result of a broken pipe flange. The leak was stopped within 30 minutes. No impacts reported to wildlife or shoreline and cleanup is ongoing. A Unified Command was established with Shell, U.S. Coast Guard, and Department of Fish and Wildlife, all of which are assisting in the response.
