Volunteer

The Office of Spill Prevention and Response may utilize volunteers during an oil spill to assist with various response activities.  When an oil spill occurs, and citizens are requested to assist with supporting oil spill response efforts, a volunteer registration link will be uploaded here:

To volunteer during an oil spill, you must meet the following criteria: 

  • be at least 18 years of age
  • be in good physical and mental health
  • be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • be able to communicate in English (second language skills are a plus)
  • attend required trainings (specific to each oil spill incident)
